It seems to me that Mount & Blade is an ochering game, with a bunch of opportunities. And I would really like the world -class developers to learn from the developments of Mount & Blade.
I would not worry more for animation and graphonia in games.
For me personally, “dumb” is that the breasts and world -class publishers fed us the same gameplay mechanics for more than a decade in a row. That’s what is bad.
For example, now I pass "Assassin’s Creed Origins". Normal game I don’t argue. But I have one question – what is new in terms of gameplay, it gives? Climbing walls? That was not in games ten years ago? Or maybe ten years ago in the games there was no similar fighter? Ahhh, I understand, ten years ago there were no such stealth elements! Yes? After all, ten years ago in the games there were no lulling darts, though? Ten years ago, we did not hide from enemies in the bushes? Or could not sneak behind to make a deadly blow in the back?
The fact of the matter is that all this was ten years ago. But there are still no such opportunities in Mount & Blade in any AAA-project. Why?! But because they are lazy – it makes no sense to strain. After all, gamers require front animation and graphics. Why improve the gameplay? There is no need.
Another example: Uncharted 4. The game is also normal. I bought it, passed, I do not regret. But the gameplay in the game is the same as in the very first uncharted. We shoot, they shoot at us, throw grenades, grenades throw in us. And that’s all. This is all that Gamestroy can today? Seriously.
Conclusion: I myself did not master the passage of Mount & Blade. This is not quite what I love. And of course everyone sees that animation and graphics in this game are not as cool as in the upcoming Red Dead Redemption 2, for example. But the problem is that many gamers forget a simple thing:
We are not buying a game video with beautiful graphics and animation – we buy a game. And since this is a game, not a “game kinzo”, then gameplay should be at the head, not graphonia. Games should first develop gameplay, and this almost does not happen.
